Musicians bring great value to our communities in unique and irreplaceable ways. The experience of hearing live music should not be limited to ticketed events in controlled spaces by professional players. Every voice is worth sharing. Every contribution matters...and it is every musician's vocation to share their gifts with the world. #liftyourvoice is a framework for individuals or groups to create performance art pieces in their own neighborhoods. INSTRUCTIONS
Pick a day, go outside your home, and perform any melodies you'd like for as long as you want. Your recital should be free and available to all. There is no minimum length to your performance. Perform alone or organize a small group of musicians to take turns. Some people advertise the recital, and some deliver spontaneous "pop-up" performances. It's entirely up to you! At some point in your recital, include our project anthem, "Panem Nostrum." Click here to download the sheet music for free. Please share a photo or video of yourself performing on social media using the hashtag #liftyourvoice You may also share your video directly to our project. A clip of your performance could be featured on the #liftyourvoice YouTube channel or Instagram! |
